Since its inception in 1826,Herend has produced one of the
world's most outstanding and distinctive porcelains. Named
after the quaint Hungarian village of Herend it inhabitants,
the manufactory is nestled in a region reputed to be a
pioneer earthenware producer in Europe.
Blue Garden this pattern was created for Baron Waldestein in
1842. The delicate floral center motif was based on early
Japanese styles. The floral design, originally executed with
multicolor painting, was subsequently adapted to blue.
This pattern is different from some of the other Herend
designs in that it is made to order. Each piece is custom
made for the customer. Herend is a line that will become
heirlooms to pass on to generations to come.
